What size of flag do I need? Most national and traditional corporate flags fly in landscape orientation and are usually in the proportion of 2:1, i.e. the longest edge is twice the length of the shortest. Strictly speaking, the correct size of flag is determined by the height of the pole. The simple rule of thumb is that the long edge of the flag should be 25% of the height of the pole, so, if you have an 8 metre pole, you will need a 2 metre x 1 metre flag. For a more contemporary look, portrait oriented flags are a great option. They look different, they're eye catching, and they fly well in the most gentle of breezes.
